My own view on Gene Simmons' approach to Celebrity Apprentice was that he wasn't getting paid much to do the show, so he probably just wanted to go on for a few weeks, create some buzz and have Donald Trump fire him in a blaze of glory before he could become stale to the audience. Whether you like or dislike KISS, you can't say those guys don't know showmanship. Perhaps I'm in the minority for liking Gene in general and on the Celebrity Apprentice in particular, as the blogosphere seems glad he's gone. See here, here and here, for example.
